Is Fair Go Casino actually legit?
Bit lost here too 😅 I only started having a slap on pokies a few months back and I'd assumed Fair Go was fine since it seems to target Aussies everywhere, but if the 2001 Act says online pokies can't be offered to us at all... maybe I'm being dumb, but does that mean sites like this are just offshore ones ACMA hasn't blocked yet? keen to hear what the regulars reckon 🙏
TurboMax, being marketed hard at Aussies means nothing when the 2001 Act says they can't legally offer it to us in the first place. I'd want to know who actually licences them and whether anyone's got a withdrawal screenshot that cleared before saying "legit". Until then, treat it like money you've already kissed goodbye.
RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.
UncleVeteran hit the nail on the head - the marketing being aimed at us is exactly what smells, since under the 2001 Act they can't legally offer it to us full stop. I got my pokie fix at the club for thirty-odd years and never needed a website for it 😄 I'd want to see who licenses them and one cleared withdrawal before trusting a cent online myself.
Busted more than you've deposited 😉
The way I see it, marketing aimed at Aussies tells you nothing about legality, under the 2001 Act, online pokies simply can't be offered to us, full stop. So Fair Go sits in that grey zone where the operator is offshore and ACMA has form for blocking sites exactly like this. Whether they've blocked this one is something I'd actually like to know too, because that's about the only regulator signal we get.
On the "is my money safe" side, I'll say what I always say: on a small spin sample even a decent-looking run means very little, and withdrawal screenshots from strangers are weak evidence, the ones that get posted are usually the winners. If the licence and payment details aren't publicly verifiable, treat every dollar you load as entertainment money you're prepared to lose, the same way you'd feed a dead machine at the club and walk away. 📊
Volatility > vibes.
Everyone's said it but I'll add this: ACMA blocking sites like this is exactly why "legit" is a stretch. If you do get a win, screenshot the withdrawal attempt - no payout, no proof.
RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.
Can I ask a dumb one 😅 if ACMA blocks a site while you've still got money in there, what happens to your balance? Does it just vanish? 🙈
New here, soaking it up.
Not a dumb question at all, love. Though I'll answer it a bit sideways.
When a site gets blocked, what actually happens is your internet provider stops you reaching the website. Your balance doesn't get torches the second that happens, but here's the catch: if you can't reach the site, you can't log in and request a withdrawal. Whether you'd ever see that money again depends on the operator actually honouring its debts from offshore, and you'd be chasing them from Darwin with nothing behind you but emails. That's exactly why the advice upthread about screenshotting everything is sound - proof of a balance and a withdrawal attempt is all you'd have.
My rule after decades in the clubs: never leave more in there than you'd shrug about losing. I've seen fellas treat an online balance like money in the bank and get a rude shock. Greed keeps the money in; patience takes it out 😉

StickyChaser has it right in my view, and I'd add the same caveat to anyone reading: because these operators sit offshore, there's no local regulator you can escalate a payout dispute to. With a venue pokie at the club, if something goes pear-shaped you've got the state regulator to complain to. Online under the 2001 Act? You're essentially on your own, which is why Rtp96Analyst's screenshot advice is sound practice regardless.
Gary's point about DNS blocking is worth expanding slightly - the block stops your ISP resolving the site, but that says nothing about the operator's solvency or whether your balance is recoverable. I keep a little spreadsheet of my online sessions the same way I log venue hits, and honestly the variance question is the same in both places; RTP is a long-run number and your spin sample is tiny either way. The legal risk profile is where they differ completely. 📊
Volatility > vibes.
TheHouse_Roller nailed it - at the club, if a dead machine eats my fifty, there's someone behind a counter and a state regulator to chase. With an offshore site, good luck getting a human on the line. And ACMA blocking just means your ISP filters it, which tells you nothing about whether they'd ever actually pay out. Got a cashout screenshot from anyone here who's used Fair Go? Withdrawal proof or it didn't happen.
Hype isn't a payout.
The club comparison is exactly why I keep my play land-based, and I'd add a wrinkle: even the state regulator route only gets you so far with a venue machine, because unless you noted the exact machine and time, good luck proving the EGM ate your A$50. Online there's no counter to walk up to at all, so the recourse problem is a whole tier worse.
Volatility > vibes.
Anyone tried an actual withdrawal from Fair Go and got paid? That's my whole test. Screenshot or it didn't happen.
Hype isn't a payout.
OneMoreSpin's test is the right one, and even a paid screenshot proves one withdrawal. On a small spin sample, that tells you nothing about the long run. 📊
RTP is a long-run number.
Checked the blacklist first before I ever had a slap at an online site, and Fair Go seems to sit in that grey zone, targeting Aussies while the 2001 Act says they shouldn't be offering it to us at all. ACMA blocking domains is the tell: if it were properly licensed for this market, there'd be nothing to block. So who actually got paid, and how long did the cheque take?
RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.
That grey zone bit is what gets me 😅 maybe I'm being dumb but I thought ACMA would've blocked it if it was dodgy? Sticking to the club for now, cheers Gramps 🙏

@TrustTheReels4Life490 yeah the RSL pokies at least give me a better yarn than an offshore site that vanishes with my A$50 🤣
@NickHighRoller nah not dumb mate, ACMA just plays whack-a-mole, blocks em once they catch em 🤣 club's the smarter punt anyway, a pokie can't ghost ya there 😂
Came to hit, stayed to tilt 🍿

@NickHighRoller ACMA can't exactly chase every offshore site, mate, they just block what they catch. Sticking to the club's the smart play anyway 🤡 house always wins either way.
The house always wins.

Bank memes are therapy too.
Seen the back end of enough rooms to know, when the outfit runs its cage from who-knows-where, your A$50's a rumour the second the site goes quiet 😏 word is some of those offshore mobs get flagged well before ACMA gets around to blocking em. Club pokies at least cough it back up in front of ya 🤫
Word is… but you didn't hear it 🤫
Cage onshore and a Lightning Link in front of me any day, offshore mobs can keep the ghost act 😤 A$50 spins better when ya can hear it drop 💰🎰
One slot, one love 🎰

@CasinoLady88 the whack-a-mole bit is right, but I'd add the block only comes after someone's already been burned. Never mind the yarn about a pokie ghosting ya either, the club will hand over a cheque if the machine packs it in, and that's the whole difference. Believe it when you cash out, and offshore you often don't cash out at all.
Hype isn't a payout.

@Grinder_Live that line about the A$50 being a rumour hit home, seen it happen to a bloke I used to knock about with. Chased one of those offshore outfits for months over a payout, site just went dark one day and that was that. Meanwhile I once turned 50 into 5k on Queen of the Nile at the local club, walked to the cage and had it in hand before my cuppa went cold 😄
Fair Go might run games fine for a while, but if you can't see the cage, you're trusting strangers with your dough. Old saying me old man taught me: the pot that fills fastest empties fastest. Club pokies for me, every time.
