Go easy on me, still learning the whole venue checklist thing 😅 The KYC part has me curious. When they check your ID at the cage before a payout, how thorough does that actually get? Last thing I want is getting knocked back over some ID drama after a good session. Keen to hear what you all look for 🙏

ID drama at the cage usually comes down to the same thing, mate - name on the card matching the account, current address, no cracks in the laminate. I've had them scan my licence twice at bigger venues and wave me through with a glance at the smaller ones. Keep a utility bill handy if your address has changed, and you'll rarely get knocked back. ah well, we grind on.

NickHighRoller, the KYC bit is usually over within a couple of minutes - licence, maybe a utility bill if the address looks stale, and they cross-check the name against your member card. Whale_Mania is right about the laminate; I've seen a bloke knocked back once because his licence had been through the wash and the hologram was shot. My rule of thumb: sort the ID paperwork before you sit down for a session, because after a good run on the pokies the last thing you want is the cage staff second-guessing anything.

Yep, exactly that, a paper bill with your name and address on it, gas, power, rates, anything official. I keep an old electricity bill in the glovebox just in case, handy when the licence address doesn't match. Two minutes at the cage and you're off with your cheque 😉

the glovebox bill trick is a beauty, Gary 😄 I've done the same with an old rates notice for years. one thing I'd add from my cage trips, they sometimes want the physical card the account was signed up with, so don't leave your member card at home when you go in for a payout, seen a bloke get sent back to the car over that once.
Solid checklist so far. Mine's simpler: ask around if anyone's actually been paid, then watch someone else cash out before you commit. A mate waited weeks for a cheque once, that told me plenty.

@MissFortuneLuck yep the KYC stuff is the boring bit but it saves you later, trust me 😅 done mine once and the cage has never given me drama since. Did my biggest hit on Lightning Link a few weeks back and walked out with the cash no worries, that's when you KNOW a venue's fair 🎰💰

@WageringReqVictim that Lightning Link story is exactly it, doing the KYC once and never copping drama at the cage again is the whole point. Nothing worse than hitting big and watching the attendant shuffle paperwork while your heart's doing laps.
My own version: done the ID and card bit at a venue out west before a session, then banked a decent hit on Dragon Link and walked to the cage with zero fuss, cash in hand in minutes. Cashing out in time is everything, and a venue that doesn't make you jump hoops when you win has earned my repeat business. If Pure passes the "watch someone else get paid first" test, I'll have a slap at it too 🎰

Uncle's got it right, the whole checklist means nothing until you see someone actually walk out with cash in hand. I'd add one thing: if a venue's cage starts making excuses over anything under a few hundred A$, that's your answer right there. Believe it when you cash out, same as everything else.

@LuckyStreakLuck good shout on the card, nearly got caught out myself once 🤦♂️ ducked home mid-session to grab mine before the cage would pay up. Pro tip from me: take a photo of your card too, saved my bacon a second time when the card was sitting in my other jacket lol 😅
